Sayulita & San Pancho: The Magic Unfolds

Sayulita & San Pancho: The Magic Unfolds
Sayulita & San Pancho: The Magic Unfolds

One of the many benefits
of living in this
little magical part
of the world
is my step-out-the-front-door
access to nature…

Dense, green jungle,
canopies of palm,
coconut and mango trees
indigenous flowers
and wildlife
totally different from my
previous Southern California topography…

I share the road now with
land crabs, iguanas, chickens & roosters, horses and yes,
even snakes—gotta watch out for those!

Starting my day off
with a morning run
is my time
to commune
with Mother Nature
and connect with Self

Breathing in the aromas
of the dense jungle air
activates within
a certain
energetic wellness,
a fountain of health
not available by prescription

Almost 9 months now
of these morning runs
each one unique
and different
with its own delights
and sensory treats…

With each step I take,
I journey into this
other world…

The True One

Where my senses
are saturated
my eyes engaged

my ears alert
heart pounding
breath echoing inside my head,
body saturated
from the fullness
of the hot, humid tropical air…

Shadows and transforming light
decorate not only the sand
below my feet
but the varying degrees of temperature on my back,
my body…
making its way through
the diverse sand terrain
with its peaks and valleys
dips and potholes

I am consumed
by the majestic
beauty of it all

I am held
in the hands of Mother Nature

Protected, invigorated, purified,
humbled,
grateful for the run
and always, always,
looking forward to the next one…
